Who we are

NSDTC is the oldest AKC member obedience training club in the United States.

North Shore Dog Training Club's All Breed 85th Obedience Trial and 20th Rally Trial will be Sunday, June 14, 2026. (Not Father's Day this year.) The Premium List is now available for download and the Trial Secretary is accepting entries now! We hope to see many of you there. We expect to have loads of fun with our great dogs.

Please note Judging change: Mr. Wayne Koutsky, #18522, Menomonee Falls, Wi, will be judging the Beginner Novice A & B, Graduate Novice, Graduate Open , Utility A & B, Preferred Utility, and Veteran Classes. We wish Judge Lynn Tamms a speedy recovery!

North Shore Dog Training Club's 84th All-Breed Obedience Trial and 19th Rally Trial were held Sunday, June 15, 2025 at WAG Training Center in Spring Grove, Illinois. Thank you to our volunteers, entrants and judges for a wonderful day!

Thanks to everyone who made the North Shore Dog Training Club's 83rd All-Breed Obedience Trial and 18th Rally Trial a huge success! Our club members and stewards were the best, the competitors were a joy and the judges were fun. Check out the Events page for a collage!

Thank you to all the club members, volunteers and participants who helped to make our annual Trials a success! North Shore Dog Training Club's 82nd All-Breed Obedience Trial and 17th Rally Trial were held Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Wag Training Center in Spring Grove again. Fun was had by all!

Whatever your interest, we've got a class for you and your dog!

Beginner / Puppy - learn the basics! Every other session will be a S.T.A.R. Puppy Class.
Rally Obedience - put those basics to work; and more! A series of stations with instructions to follow.
Novice Obedience - Ready for the obedience competition ring? You will be with help from our volunteer instructors!
Advanced - If you and your dog have substantially achieved the AKC Companion Dog (CD) title, you're ready to take on higher challenges!

Join us for fun events! NSDTC hosts an Obedience and Rally Trial every year. Lots of work, but even more fun!

Our annual Dancing with Dogs event is a blast for all who participate - and observe!

The picnic and holiday party are more fun events when our members and class participants get together.
